Life-skills Initiative For Enabling Equity in Adolescent Students and Youth (LIFE EASY)
The project is supported by HCL Foundation’s flagship urban community development program called HCL UDAY.
This “LIFE EASY” project aims to bring gender related behavioural transformation in about ~4,000 adolescent students from 20 select state government higher secondary schools involving ~75 teachers & staff, ~1000-2000 parents, and other stakeholders.
The project intends to empower secondary and higher secondary school students in select schools by:
- Imparting knowledge and understanding on gender related stereotypes, biases, myths and misconceptions;
- Promoting appropriate attitudes (with facilitation of positive learning environment, showcasing positive outcomes, eliminating negative thinking, and enabling self-sustaining rewarding systems for motivation)
- Facilitating congenial practices (empowered through basic and soft skill training)
Other significant intervention of this project is to promote gender sensitivity amongst teachers, parents, and community influencers to have sustained impact beyond the project intervention.
The project will also create safe spaces for adolescents in schools and communities by reducing physical and social barriers and improving decision making through life skills modules, mentoring program and career guidance.Life-skills Initiative For Enabling Equity in Adolescent Students and Youth (LIFE EASY) The project is supported by HCL Foundation’s flagship urban community development program called HCL UDAY.
